My academic foundation in clinical psychology is driven by a strong commitment to addressing emotional dysregulation, specifically the sudden, impulsive anger presentations often associated with ADHD. Building upon my prior research investigating how environmental variables impact emotional regulation and anger in young adults, I am eager to translate empirical insights into applied, evidence-based clinical practice. I am particularly drawn to this internship to hone my competencies in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and psychoeducation, focusing on helping neurodivergent clients identify cognitive distortions and interrupt escalating behavioral triggers before they reach a crisis point.
