Hello! My name is McKenzie. I love summer, cooking, travelling, time with family, and walks with my dog. As someone who has relocated many times across Canada, I recognize the struggle of adapting to new places, along with the stress that can accompany change. Wherever you are at in your journey, you do not have to navigate it alone. My goal is to meet you where you’re at, and to provide a safe and non-judgemental space where we can embark on your therapeutic journey together, work towards your goals, and equip you with appropriate knowledge and tools that you can apply moving forward. As a therapy intern, I bring a calm, non-judgmental, person-centered approach to therapy. My growing theoretical orientation encompasses methods such as cognitive behavioural therapy, solution-focused therapy, and somatic-based therapy. This means I explore the relationship between thoughts and behaviours, collaboratively create, plan, and work towards client goals, and recognize the interaction between mind and body. I utilize transparency, kindness, and a dose of humour when connecting with clients. I believe that trust and connection are the foundation for effective therapy, with the client setting the pace.
