From my perspective as a BA psychology student and psych intern, I’m interested in understanding different therapeutic approaches through a social neuroscience lens. I see therapy not just as conversation, but as a meaningful social interaction that can influence neural systems involved in emotion, cognition, and relationships. I’m particularly curious about how different approaches engage processes like emotion regulation, empathy, and attachment. For example, I think about how structured therapies may target cognitive control and behavior, while more relational approaches focus on interpersonal dynamics and deeper emotional patterns. At this stage, my interest is exploratory and reflective. I’m comparing different frameworks while also considering how they align with my own values and developing style as a future therapist. Overall, I’m motivated to integrate psychology and neuroscience to better understand how therapy works and how meaningful change occurs.
