Leigh Allen

I worked as a research assistant, designing interactive numeracy games for preschool and school-aged children to support the development of foundational math skills while coordinating their implementation across classroom settings and assisting with data collection on engagement and learning outcomes. I also supported the assessment of spatial awareness and language development, contributing to the administration and documentation of developmental measures. In addition, I conducted biopsychosocial assessments, integrating behavioral, cognitive, and environmental factors to support a more comprehensive understanding of participant outcomes. I created visually engaging materials for research presentations, reports, and outreach initiatives, helping to strengthen the lab’s communication, visibility, and collaboration within the academic community. Through training sessions and hands-on projects, I applied qualitative and quantitative data analysis methods—coding, cleaning, and organizing datasets—to ensure accurate record-keeping and support the timely completion of research projects.
