I am currently a second year psychology student at the University of Oregon, where I start to develop a more thorough grasp on contemporary and historical mental health theories, couseling techniques and human behavior. My interest in psychology began in high school, where I conducted a group research on dual-coding theory. Similarly, I developed a research paper concerning the impact of confirmation bias on news and media consumption. My goal is to carry the skills I gain into a career in social works, where I can continue to make a positive impact on individuals and families. I want to pursue a PhD in psychology in the future, and this internship opportunity will make me strive towards that goal. I'm hoping that with the help of professionals, I too can become a licensed practitioner with the ability to aid others. I am skilled at teamwork, active listening, data analysis, and planning. These skills will help me become the best assistant possible while I actively try and improve other skills and knowledge.
