With working with various clients from the ages of 5 to 21, there's a wide range of behavioral issues, ASD, learning disorders, and traumatic backgrounds that I learned about each client I worked with. Ultimately, I had to tailor specific goals and treatment plans to motivate the children I worked with to develop & identify coping skills to deal with their emotions in an elementary, middle school, high school, college setting, post-graduate setting beyond the school setting. Also, I had to record the date, submit behavioral reports accurately, and on time. I constantly attend clinical supervision meetings and collaborate with my supervisor to discuss the treatment plan of every client that I work with. So, as a behavioral health specialist, I can transfer my knowledge of understanding the triggers of specific behaviors that might prevent a person from fully learning how to healthily cope with a mental or emotional issue they're working through, instead of resorting to unhealthy coping mechanisms such as drug and alcohol misuse, unsafe sexual practices, and self-harm utilizing a harm reduction model. I believe that it's very important to understand that every individual comes with a different story and to look beyond how a person presents themselves in any setting.
